Campus Location
ECU’s Colombo Campus is nestled in the heart of vibrant Kollupitiya, providing modern facilities and amenities that cater to all student needs.
From a historical colonial brewery to bustling commercial hub, Kollupitiya today has plenty to offer its diverse student population. The area is one of Colombo’s most popular districts, with numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options, and a vibrant night life.
Facilities and Activities
Computing labs
Our state-of-the-art computer labs offer students access to high-speed internet and programs to help with their courses, including the Microsoft Office suite, multimedia applications, and other specialist software that might be required.
Students can use the computer labs any day of the week between 8am and 8pm, whether it’s for internet research, to complete an assignment or project, or just to browse the web or email friends and family.
Library
The library provides support, services and information to help you with your studies, including the most recent editions of all textbooks and other printed media that you need to reference for your individual course.
Sport and Recreation
ECU has a wide range of recreation and special interest clubs on campus, many of them facilitated by the Student Council. The Student Council and Rotaract Clubs empower student leaders to get involved in and organise various activities, including charity events, corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, career development programs and more for their peers.
Cricket is a major sport in Sri Lanka – and it’s no different at ECU, with a dedicated cricket club for this national pastime. Other sports clubs that students can join include rugby, basketball and football.
Places to Eat
Cafeteria
Choose to stay on campus for a meal and enjoy the beautiful ocean views from the rooftop cafeteria. The ECU cafeteria offers a wide selection of hot meals, snacks, and treats.
Off-campus
There are plentiful food choices and venues within close proximity of the ECU campus, making them easily accessible on your study breaks. You’re never far off from a delicious food option in Colombo.
Bookstores
You can purchase all the course materials you need – whether it’s textbooks, reference books or stationery – from one of the prominent bookstores close to the campus. Makeen Books and Vijitha Yapa are two of the main ones that will have everything required for your course; they have a great selection of books, study materials, and even gifts to choose from.
Parking
Students who travel to campus by car can access ample parking in the basement car park, with additional parking available just outside of the main building on campus.
