On 3rd October 2025, Engineering students from both Diploma and Bachelor programs at ECU Sri Lanka embarked on an educational field visit to the Kelanitissa Combined Cycle Power Station (KCCP). The visit offered students an in-depth understanding of thermal power generation, focusing on the combined cycle process that maximizes efficiency through the use of both gas and steam turbines.
During the visit, students engaged with industry professionals, observed live operations, and explored sustainability practices within Sri Lanka’s energy sector. This hands-on exposure not only enhanced their academic learning but also fostered critical thinking about the country’s evolving energy infrastructure and its role in advancing technological innovation. Every step of academic engagement at ECU is practical sessions infused so that ECU students are always one step ahead in being career driven.
