In celebration of World Children’s Day, the Rajagiriya Police, in collaboration with ECU Sri Lanka, organized a special event for students of Siri Parakumba Vidyalaya, Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte.
The event was fully funded by ECU Sri Lanka and aimed to support the education of selected students from Grades 5, 9, and 10. As part of the initiative, each selected student received a full book list for the entire year and all other required school items, helping to ensure they are well-equipped for their academic journey ahead.
The program highlighted the importance of community partnership in empowering children through education and fostering a spirit of care and encouragement among youth.
Edith Cowan University, as the 1st International University in Sri Lanka is committed to uplift community development and educational empowerment. ECU will continue to invest in initiatives that uplift underprivileged children and create equal learning opportunities across the country.
The program further highlighted the value of the partnership between law enforcement and Universities in building a supportive environment for children’s growth, education, and well-being.
