Top-performing students from the MKT 2805 Social Media Marketing unit of the ECU Sri Lanka Marketing Major successfully delivered their creative pitch presentations to industry case study partner Celeste Daily on 5th March 2026 at the Celeste Daily Head Office. The students also pitched their campaign proposals to Mr. Janik Jayasuriya, Founder of Celeste Daily. This milestone event marked the culmination of a rigorous applied learning journey, in which students were challenged to develop a comprehensive, industry-ready marketing campaign from the ground up
The student teams presented their creative strategies, supported by thorough target audience identification and audience-tailored campaign concepts. A distinctive feature of this cohort’s work was their integration of artificial intelligence and prompt engineering techniques to enhance the quality and precision of their campaign outputs. Students demonstrated not only their theoretical knowledge of digital marketing but also their ability to leverage emerging technologies as part of professional practice.
The pitches showcased students’ ability to apply key marketing principles including segmentation, targeting, and content strategy to a live business context, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry application. The Celeste Daily team provided valuable feedback, offering students genuine experience of professional client engagement.
The session was attended by the ECU Sri Lanka academic team, including Ms Chathurika Somasiri, Lecturer in Marketing, and Dr Udari Samaranayake, Lecturer in Management. This initiative highlights ECU Sri Lanka’s continued commitment to industry engagement and applied learning, supporting student readiness for real-world marketing initiatives and reinforcing the University’s mission to equip graduates with both the skills and confidence to thrive in professional environments.
