Edith Cowan University College (ECC) Sri Lanka celebrated an important milestone on 21 August as its Foundation and Diploma students came together for their graduation ceremony, marking the successful completion of an important chapter in their academic journeys.
The morning ceremony was a celebration of the dedication, perseverance and achievements of the graduating class, as students proudly came together with their families, lecturers and members of the ECU community to mark the occasion.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the address delivered by Nimangi Amarasooriya, representing the ECC graduating batch of 2026. Speaking on behalf of her fellow graduates, Nimangi reflected on the experiences, friendships and challenges that shaped their time at ECC, while looking ahead to the opportunities that await them beyond graduation.
For many of the graduates, the ceremony represented more than simply completing a Foundation or Diploma qualification. It marked the beginning of a new stage in their academic journey, whether progressing into undergraduate study at ECU or taking their newly developed knowledge and skills into the wider world.
The graduation was also a proud moment for ECU Sri Lanka as the university unveiled its new “Go Further” commercial and tagline. The message resonated strongly with the graduating students, who now stand at the beginning of their next chapter.
As the ceremony came to a close, graduates celebrated this memorable achievement together, proudly throwing their graduation caps into the air, a joyful symbol of everything they had accomplished and the possibilities that lie ahead.
For the ECC Class of 2026, graduation is not an ending, but a beginning. With the foundation they have built at ECU College, they are now ready to take their next step, embrace new opportunities and Go Further.
