ECU Sri Lanka student Dinal Damsara, 19, has been recognised with the Undergraduate Dean Scholarship for Academic Achievement for his outstanding academic performance.
An alumni of DS Senanayake College, Colombo, Dinal began his journey at ECU Sri Lanka through the Foundation program in 2024 before commencing the Bachelor of Biomedical Science in 2025.
Throughout his degree, Dinal maintained a demanding academic workload, completing four units per semester. He describes the experience as challenging from the beginning, requiring consistent study, discipline and commitment.
Dinal credits his achievement to the support he received throughout his journey, including academic workshops conducted at the beginning of each semester, as well as the guidance of his lecturers and laboratory technicians. He also acknowledges the encouragement of his parents and elder brother, who supported him throughout his studies.
Reflecting on his achievement, Dinal said that his motivation was never solely to earn a scholarship. He had always aimed to achieve higher marks and continuously improve his academic performance, with the scholarship becoming a rewarding recognition of that effort.
Dinal also made full use of ECU’s laboratory facilities and the academic support available to students throughout his degree.
With his Bachelor of Biomedical Science journey now completed, Dinal looks forward to applying the knowledge and experience he has gained at ECU as he takes the next step in his academic and professional journey.
ECU Sri Lanka congratulates Dinal on this significant academic achievement and wishes him continued success as he goes further.
