ECU Sri Lanka Students Recognized at the 2025 Vice Chancellor’s Student Excellence Celebration

ECU Sri Lanka is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its students who have brought recognition to the campus at the 2025 Vice Chancellor’s Student Excellence Celebration, an annual event honouring the top-performing students across all Edith Cowan University campuses worldwide which was held in Perth this time. 

Hapuarachchige Charith Mendis, an undergraduate student at Edith Cowan University pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in International Business and Management, has demonstrated excellence both academically and through his active involvement in university life. As the Treasurer and Student Ambassador for 2024/2025, Charith has shown remarkable leadership and initiative in fostering student engagement and community spirit. 

He received the 2025 Vice Chancellor’s Student Award for Contribution to University Life, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, dedication, and service in enriching the student community through active participation and commitment to campus activities. Beyond academics, Charith is also a passionate swimmer, with interests spanning business development, operations, and project management, reflecting a well-rounded student who exemplifies the values of ECU. 

Luchintha Anjana Morawakage, an undergraduate in Bachelor of Computer Science, was recognised among the Top 100 students globally, an outstanding achievement considering that ECU has a student body of over 30,000 students worldwide. A machine learning enthusiast and indie game developer, Luchintha’s creativity, innovation, and academic excellence have set a strong example for peers in the technology and computing fields. 

ECU Sri Lanka students continue to make a lasting impact on the wider ECU community through their exceptional calibre, initiative, and global potential. The university takes great pride in supporting their journey every step of the way.
